Artist Bio
Christie Frields exhibition "love me god free" (sic)
presents three satirical monuments. The monuments are contemporary
hermai - ancient Greek
marble pillars that featured a bust of the god Hermes - that, like
their aged ancestors, feature a lord(s) trickster / phallic god of
commerce, language (thieves and liars) and border areas where cultures
meet. The monuments are constructed from fired ceramic (the busts),
concrete and California Pine.
