Drain Cover Kozy - by Lisa Anne Auerbach

On the occasion of her exhibition "Auerbachtoberfest", Lisa Anne Auerbach created an edition of machine-knited, hand-finished woolen drain cover kozies. Each kozy is a woolen square* made up of four sections that are stitched together. The kozies are designed to fit over a metal drain cover, that is affixed to the gallery floor; a reminder of the gallery's past as Johnny's Tacos. This metal drain cover, with its painted on black and white checkerboard pattern, can be seen in this image, it is on the floor just underneath the creme and black woolen runner on the wall.

This edition is a run of 50 kozies. The odd numbered kozies are red and black, while the even numbered kozies are grey and black. Each kozy has a tag affixed to one side that reads: Lisa Anne Auerbach 2007 100% Wool.

*It's wool so the shape isn't perfectly square.
