Show Closing + Record Listening - Saturday, June 9th, 6pm
Friends,
This Saturday, June 9th, will be the final day for our current show "Between The Clock And The Bed" a group show organized by Pamela Jorden featuring the work of David Hughes, Pamela Jorden, Michael Mahalchick, Rebecca Morris, Ian Pedigo, Amy Sarkisian and Tyler Vlahovich. Makes plans to stop by before it closes.

Also on Saturday we will be hosting a Record Listening beginning at 6pm sharp. We will be listening to Jimi Hendrix's "Crash Landing", which was a postumously released album from 1975. Like a film or video screening, we will present some historical info of the album and then listen to it, front to back, with a brief intermission to stretch legs and switch sides. We'll have a few chairs available, but bring a pillow or yoga mat or summat for comfort if you think of it just in case it turns out to be more than a few of us.

Directly following, and perhaps during intermission, we will most likely be spending a little time at Johnny's, the bar directly next door to the gallery (5006 York to our 5006 1/2) who hosted us after our last opening and who are now officially open to the public!

Information and photos on our current exhibition can be found on our website.

Save the date: Saturday, July 7th, 7-10pm
After a few weeks of downtime (see below) we will host our next opening on Saturday, July 7th (07/07/07!). LA based artist Gabie Strong has organized "Time Writers from the Mirror Horizon" featuring the work of Andy Alexander, Kent Familton, Wendy Heldmann, Kathleen Johnson, Alice Konitz, Tracy Nakayama, Gina Osterloh, Sean Sullivan, Kristine Thompson and Jeremy Yoder who will be using the gallery located at 5006 ½ York Blvd. as a starship for explorations of time and space. Some might consider the word "landscape" as a proper painterly term to describe some of the work presented in this show, as an analogy for the curious rub between past, present, and future; others will just say, "far out!" We'll also have an opening sound performance by Sharon Cheslow and Steven Kim.

Gallery closed for a few weeks
David Patton Los Angeles will be closed from June 10th until July 7th. We will still be contactable via email.

Other eastside events, one much farther east
Three local events of note: this Saturday from 4-8pm, LA artists Max Lesser, Phil Chang and Ronni Kimm will be hosting an open studio at 5028 York Blvd. (just down the block). Also on Saturday Night is the NELA Second Saturday event. On Saturday the 16th the Glendale College Art Gallery will present the opening of a show of new sculptures from Carlos Mollura and Chris Nichols. More info on this upcoming show can be found here. Lastly, Austrian artist Hans Schabus has an exhibition opening at Site Santa Fe on the weekend of June 21-22. Dig more here.
